In keeping with our monthly meetings, “Blings ‘n’ Things” will be themed for each month for a specific topic, but members are encouraged to bring in anything they would like to show or share. Below is the list of themes for 2025:
- February – “Bring somthin'” – Simply bring something you want to share
- March – “Tiny but Mighty: Radios That Fit in Your Pocket” – Share handhelds, QRP rigs, and other ultra-portable gear.
- April – “Ham Radio MacGyver: Fixes with Duct Tape and Hope” – Field repairs, improvised parts, and stories of making things work when they shouldn’t.
- May – “Ground Control: When Lightning Comes Knocking” – Demonstrate station grounding, surge protection, and lightning arrestors.
- June – no meeting
- July – “Feedline Follies: Coax, Connectors, and Confusion” – Show different coax types, adapters, and common mistakes that cause RF headaches.
- August – “QSL and Tell: Postcards from the Ionosphere” – Bring interesting, rare, or funny QSL cards and tell the story behind the contact.
- September – “The Great Antenna Experiment: Weird but It Works!” – Bring unconventional antennas that actually perform.
- October – “Propagation Nation: Why the Bands Love (or Hate) You” – Show tools like prediction software, solar data apps, or propagation beacons.
- November – “The $10 Antenna Challenge: Cheap Thrills on the Air” – Members bring antennas made from scrap wire, TV twin-lead, hardware store parts, or anything laying around.
- December – no meeting
